for a tiny curled up body.
Pine needles mustiness
perfume his tears.
sea foam becomes rock,
when mountain crawls
down to meet the waves.
over the flint bed an echo
command: "Lay not thine
hand upon the lad."
A cretaceous limestone
glares in a chalky mirage.
Like Isaac, we can still hear
the angel’s voice.
