On 15 July 2015 I started the proportions studies after a visit with V to El Prado.
AGNUS DEI (METANOIA) a series of ~ 60 collages emerges from a startling and magical encounter with Velasquez’s Christ on the Cross in July 2015, following weeks of investigation of its proportions.
Few other oil on canvas works belong to this series.
The first collages from 2015 disappeared, though some proportions drawing were found later.
I went on with these series from 2june to 28julio 2020 and then in 2023.

Overwhelmed after seeing fir the first time , Christ and n the Cross by Velasquez
I spent a weeks researching the proportions
I made about 100 small works and I went to visit the monastery of crucification in Jerusalem where they have the legend that the cross was made of a miracle tree a tree combined of three trees, 🌴 🌳 🌲 pine o Lebanon, Alon - cedro and Cypress . there is a Cypress as tall as like 15 m. I study the proportions of Velasquez incredible work and than I started to overlap the proportions study with thee notion of a cross becoming a tree again . And overlap collages . And the tree of life which is connecting the 10 spheres, cabalistic spheres, with different parts of the body. Characteristic and the invitation during certain prayers to have different sensations in different parts of the body, corresponding to these different spheres. Connections and overlapping brought about the collages series. I had the feeling of the tree becoming a cross and then the cross becoming a tree , back to become alive as a tree. And the crucified resuscitates and the thin line between life and death. and as if there is no past , no future , no death, no life , it’s all an interchangeable One. and this is the theme of these works. Oneness where tree firs upward and something descends downward. Sky and earth and between them.
